Job Summary
Poppy’s Therapeutic Corner is seeking a Certified Family Peer Supporter (CFPS) to provide peer-based support to families and caregivers of youth receiving behavioral health services. This role centers lived experience, family voice, and advocacy while helping families navigate systems, access resources, and build confidence in supporting their child’s wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide family peer support using lived experience and shared understanding
- Support caregivers in navigating behavioral health, school, and community systems
- Advocate for family voice, choice, and collaboration in care
- Assist families with goal-setting, resource connection, and skill-building
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, care coordinators, and school teams
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EHR
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and trainings
Qualifications
- Active Certified Family Peer Supporter (CFPS) certification (Ohio) required
- High school diploma or GED required (college coursework preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Medicaid-funded services
- Knowledge of behavioral health and community support systems
- Experience working with diverse and underserved families
